My New Book and Position as Inaugural Poet Laureate

When I interviewed Richard Greene about the question: “What do you think poetry is to our modern life?” he replied: “Poetry to our life is like water to fish.” His answer might seem bold and dramatic for some people, but not for me. I can picture myself –the fish … saved by water – poetry. From the very beginning of my poetry journey, I have believed that. Thus I promoted Poetry Alive passionately. 在佛兰德斯战场,血红罂粟飘扬
一排排十字架之间,成列又成行;
那儿就是我们长眠之地。天空上
云雀依然在勇敢欢唱,展翅飞翔,
枪林弹雨中,依稀听到它们歌唱。

我们刚刚阵亡。就在几天以前
我们还活着,感受拂晓,目睹夕阳,
爱过,也被爱过,而今都长眠
在佛兰德斯战场。

继续着我们同敌人的战斗吧:
我们垂落的手向你投掷这把
火炬;它属于你们,请握紧高举。
若你们违背对我们死者的诺言,
我们绝不能安息,就算罂粟之花
开遍佛兰德斯战场。
