Happy Father’s Day

fatherPoemAnnaYinMore than a year ago, I changed to my current job and hoped to travel back and take care of my parents in China and work there for a while since I can work remotely. But the policy of America changed, then this year the COVID, I could not travel back and work from there. Each time the journey home is so long, yet the days I visit my parents are so short… I hope to stay longer in the future. Father, happy Father’s Day.

From time to time, I wonder “Why Poetry?”…
After reading a part of the book: Why Poetry (by Margaret Atwood) and Every Exit is an Entrance (A Praise of Sleep) by Anne Carson, I have gotten answers…. thanks!

Glad that two of my new poems:”Family Album” and “Because Of” were published in “Quixotica” in HongKong. This collection of poems is by both award-winning and emerging poets from Hong Kong, Singapore, the Phillippines and beyond, illustrating how Don Quixote continues to inspire and illuminate across oceans and centuries. Good luck to the book launch in HongKong this July.

New poems, new books and Poetry Alive workshop

2016-Poet-ALive-workshop-allOn May 20, I had Poetry Alive workshop at Francis Libermann school (Toronto) . It was the fourth time to visit the school. The teachers and students were very glad to have me there. They liked my Poetry Alive workshop very much and bought my books. Now they have “Wings Toward Sunlight”, “Inhaling the Silence” and “Seven Nights with the Chinese Zodiac”. They had “Inhaling…” before and prepared some questions but we didn’t have time for haiku and the Q/A section. Maybe next time… Thanks!

Glad to know my class for Magic Monday at Visual Arts Mississauga is full. Looking forward to meeting all of you and write and share poems together on June 6,2016
